the street lawyer

Michael Brock is a man in a hurry. He's in the fast lane at Drake & Sweeney, a giant Washington law firm. He's a rising star, with no time to waste, no time to toss a few coins into the hands of beggars. No time for a conscience.

But a chance violent encounter with a homeless man stops him cold. The fallout propels him onto a trail of corruption and illegality which leads straight back to Drake & Sweeney. To get to the truth, Michael will have to dig deep into some of his own firm's dirtiest secrets...

Critic's Reviews

'Fluent and fascinating. Few writers have so much to say, the skills to make reading what they say an irresistible pleasure -- and the clout to be able to say it to an audience of millions.'

'Compelling... Grisham is more adept at getting the reader to turn the page than almost any writer working today.'
 Daily Mail

'No one does it better than Grisham. This latest novel is as unputdownable as ever.'
 Daily Telegraph

this was a book which opened my eyes to the less fortunate. I mean most tourists whaen travelling to the US always go to the luxurious places but they never give a second thought of the poor people black and white people alike. This book has shown me we the fortunate ones should do all we can to keep the less fortunate alive. Buy this book and you'll never want to put it down

This is an excellent book and, in my opinion, Grisham's best. It was fast paced, emotive, and exciting. I felt a real empathy with the character Michael: it has changed a part of my life. If you miss this then you miss out on something special.
I was hooked on this story from page one. John Grisham open's the readers eyes to the world of the homeless. The poverty and desperation felt by those living on our streets. The attention to detail in this book has to be admired. Buy this book today, you won't be disappointed.
